Los Angeles

31st March 2003

Our Alamo Rental Car - a Buick Rendevous
Buick Rendevous

After landing at LAX we had no real problems with immigration or customs and were soon on the shuttle bus to the Alamo Depot where we rented a Buick Rendevous - a very nice SUV ideal for the 4 of us during our travels.

The rest of the afternoon was spent getting to the hotel, settling in and doing some shopping.  We stayed at the Days Inn in Beuna Park just near Anaheim about 20 miles from downtown LA.

1st April 2003

Today we drove from Buena Park down to Long Beach where we checked the Queen Mary before we headed up to Hollywood and did some of the touristy stuff.  Graumans Chinese Theatre, the Walk of Fame and we also went to Beverley Hills to check out Rodeo Drive.

Wednesday 2nd April 2003

Michelle was not feeling well today so Ryan stayed in the hotel with her whilst Rayls and I went shopping.  We visited a very nice Robinsons May and a number of other stores.

In the evening Ryan, Rayls and I went to the Warner Brothers Studios in Hollywood to watch a taping of the Drew Carey Show.  An interesting experience.

Thursday 3rd April 2003

Today was a long day at Disneyland.

Friday 4th April 2003

Another long day, this time at Universal Studios

Saturday 5th April 2003

Today we went to Knottsberry Farm which is walking distance from the hotel.

Sunday 6th April 2003

Today we drove into LA and did some more of the touristical stuff.

A walk along Venice Beach - you see some fruit loops along there.

Checked out some more of the 'stars' on the Walk of Fame.

Looked for some stars homes in Beverley Hills.  They were renovating at Brad and Jennifers.

Later in the day we went up into the Hollywood Hills and got as close as we could to the Hollywood sign.  Very narrow roads up there.

Finally a drive through downtown as we headed back to Beuna Park and our hotel.  Tomorrow we move on the San Diego.
