Today we spent the day at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground for the first day of the First Ashes test between Australia and England. This was a real bucket list item for both of us and a real treat. It was an interesting days play, not sure Australia were at their best but the day ended fairly even, maybe slightly balanced towards England. Big day tomorrow.

Strange being the minority in the crowd, the Poms certainly were noisy.

After the days play we walked back to our AirBnb unit - just 8 minutes away - very convenient. Too tired to go out for dinner so we ordered pizza.

About 300 K's today as we drove from the Lakes District and ended up in Birmingham. We took a slightly longer route to go into Wales and check out The Racecourse Ground, a football stadium in Wrexham. It is the home of Wrexham A.F.C. The ground and the football team are subject of a Docuseries chronicling the purchase and stewardship of Wrexham AFC, one of professional football's oldest clubs, by two Hollywood actors, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

We had a great lunch and enjoyed our walk around the ground and to the Wrexham shop.

Back onto the road and into England where we arrived at our AirBnb around 3pm.
