So here we are in Los Angeles!

We left home in Dawesville a few minutes after 8am and headed for Scott's house at The Vines where we left our car. Scott drove us to the airport. It's a bit strange flying on QF10 as you have to go through immigration in Perth instead of Melbourne. The plane, VH-ZNE a 787, flew from London to Perth - a lot of passengers from London were going on to Melbourne.

We departed Perth right on time at 1:15pm and it was a smooth enough flight to Melbourne. In Melbourne we went to International Transfers and were soon at the departure gate, number 5. The flight to Los Angeles also left on time at 9:30pm (Melbourne time). Rayls and I were in the very back row where there was only 2 seats, aisle and window, no third person to get past. Big bonus was the three seats in the back middle row was vacant and so as soon as the seat belt sign was off I scooted across and grabbed the three seats. This allowed Rayls to have the two seats to relax a bit and I had the three seats to lay down. I am a notorious non sleeper on planes but today I managed 7 hours, it was a little tight but better than sitting up for a long way.

We landed in LA an hour early which was great. However the line through immigration was very long and would have taken an hour to get through. Then it was bags and off to the rental shuttle bus. It was heavy traffic but only about 10 minutes to the Dollar Rental facility. Renting the car was as easy as it gets, not offers of usual upgrades. The dude did offer us of either a red or grey car, Rayls and I both said red, so we got the grey.

I tried to pair the bluetooth with the car but it didn't show anything so Rayls had to direct me to the hotel from the phone. It was dark and tough going getting to Anaheim. Our hotel is just near Disneyland, not that we are going there. After checking in we headed to Target for some essentials and then a Dennys for a bite to eat before heading back to the hotel around 10:30pm.

We slept in till 11:30am, today was always planned as a quiet one.

I fixed up the GPS in the car by stopping the bluetooth pairing and plugging in the phone by cable, now we have GPS and music.

We headed off to M&L Fabrics with a stop at Maccas on the way. Rayls had a good hour at M&L and was very pleased with her purchases.

Then to as Walmart, back to the Target and then to Arbys for dinner - Arby's is Rayls favourite fast food.

We checked out a thrift shop and then back to the hotel to rest up before our drive to Las Vegas tomorrow.
