Rayls has spent the day unpacking and washing. I have been downloading photos, which shouldn't take that long but has been a bit of a chore. We took just over 1000 photos between us. Time to create a new travel photo book.

Ollie certainly seemed happy to see us - he is quickly back into our old routine.

I am already mulling our next trip, probably back to the UK next year to finish what we missed last year due to us both getting Covid. I am torn as I love the USA.

Anyway, that's it for another trip.

We're home!

The flight from Melbourne to Perth was OK, didn't like the food choices but that's me. Landed just after 11:30am. That makes it about 23 and a half hours from take off in LA to landing in Perth. All Qantas flights were fine, a necessary evil.

Scott and Shannon were there to pick us up. Scott had to race back to work so we took Shannon home and then headed home to Dawesville.

Ollie was very happy to see us and quickly got back into his routine. It's like we never left.

Much later now and the bags are still where we left them after we got them out of the car. They can wait till tomorrow.

Very pleased with our trip, great to see Amy and Steve in Utah and Maria and Charlie in LA. The road trip in Washington was the best ever, great drive which I would do again in a heartbeat.

QF96 left LA on Monday pretty much on time and the flight was as good as it gets. Being at the back of the plane we struggled for overhead bin space but it was all good. Both Rayls and I slept a bit. As long flights go it was OK.

We landed in Melbourne early, a bit after 5:00am on Wednesday - somewhere we lost Tuesday. Immigration is pretty easy these days, luggage took 20 minutes and off we went looking for the transfer to the domestic terminal, no train or bus required here but for elderly and tired people like us it was a chore.

Anyway, as much as I love the USA it's nice to be back in Australia.  Depart for Perth at 9:20am and arrive in Perth 11:30am.
