Salt Lake City back to Cedar City 18th April
Up at 8:30am and on the road by 9:30am. We stopped at a Maccas for brekkie and the checked out an Ikea store for storafe ideas. The store had priority handicap parking and also priority parking for people who drive fuel efficient cars - never seen the priority parking for fuel efficient cars before.
Much easier drive back, no snowing. It took much less fuel to come back, significant amount - down hill I guess.
We were back in Cedar City at 2:30pm. Quiet afternoon. Went to the Pizza Factory for dinner and then TV till 9:30pm. Nice to be 'home'.
Salt Lake City 17th April
Our day started with Steve and I taking 10 minutes to get 5 inches of snow of the car. Quite a task, somethig I am not use to. Steve was smart enough to wear gloves, brrrr.
Fuelled up and off we went to Salt Lake City. It snowed for much of the way but still a cruisy enough drive. Two lanes for most of the way and then three and four lanes when we get close to SLC.
Our hotel was just 350 metres from the arena so once we parked at the hotel we didn't need to move again till we checked out.
We have been to Salt Lake City before so no real need to look around. We walked to some shops across from the arena and had a snack at Barnes and Noble and also looked at some books!
EnergySolutions Arena (originally Delta Center) is an indoor arena that seats over 19,000 people. It is the home arena for the NBA's Utah Jazz and a great concert venue which was near capacity for the Bon Jovi concert.
Show started probably 40 minutes late due to the time it take to get through security to enter.
Great show. Most of the hits although I think we got robbed of a few songs, maybe due to the late start.
Short walk back to the hotel after the show, ears were ringing and many happy people along the way.
